St. Pauli has confirmed the signing of Finnish international Rony Jansson from Kalmar FF, one week before the start of the 2. Bundesliga campaign. The 22-year-old right-back made his international debut recently in a match against Hungary. Jansson joins St. Pauli following the departure of Manolis Saliakas to Olympiacos. He has played the past three seasons with Kalmar FF, scoring three goals in 14 appearances last season. St. Pauli will host Greuther Fürth in their league opener next week under new coach Marcel Rapp, who took over after the team finished at the bottom of the Bundesliga last season.
