Steelers monitor multiple player injury statuses ahead of Atlanta Falcons season opener

The Pittsburgh Steelers are managing several injury concerns heading into their Week 1 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. Wide receivers Michael Pittman Jr. and DK Metcalf both returned to practice Monday after dealing with recent setbacks. Safety Jaquan Brisker also rejoined team workouts and is expected to be available for the opener. Meanwhile, Ben Skowronek returned to the field as he navigates the concussion protocol following the preseason finale. The team will remain without starting safety DeShon Elliott for at least the first four games after he was placed on injured reserve. Joey Porter Jr. is also under observation following his recent activation from the physically unable to perform list.
