Streaming service Victory+ ceases operations after missing payments

The streaming service Victory+ shut down on September 1 following the expiration of its agreements with the National Women’s Soccer League, the Texas Rangers, and the Anaheim Ducks. These professional organizations terminated their contracts in July due to missed payments by the platform. The company's expansion, which included additional content deals with the Dallas Stars, the Minnesota Lynx, the Atlanta Dream, and the Western Hockey League, failed to generate sufficient revenue to sustain operations. While the National Women’s Soccer League will transition to a distribution agreement with Roku, other teams have moved their broadcasts to paid solutions on Amazon Prime Video. Although the platform claimed two million app downloads, the business model proved unsustainable as the company was unable to secure necessary long-term financing.
