Suryakumar Yadav to captain Mumbai in Vijay Hazare and SMAT

Suryakumar Yadav will lead Mumbai in the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy, starting with their first match against Hyderabad on November 14. This decision follows his omission from the Ranji Trophy squad due to a lack of recent red-ball cricket. Despite this, selectors have chosen him for his leadership experience in white-ball formats, as he looks to rebound from a dip in form while navigating challenges from other potential captaincy options. Mumbai's senior selection committee confirmed the appointment amid a disappointing previous season in both tournaments.
