Susan Moore player Lucas Beard transported to hospital during Glencoe game

Susan Moore football player Lucas Beard was transported to UAB hospital by medical helicopter following an injury during a game at Glencoe on Friday, Sept. 4. The incident occurred on the final play of the first half, leading to a delay of approximately 30 minutes while trainers and emergency medical technicians attended to the player on the field. Coaches reported that Beard had feeling in his extremities before he was airlifted from the venue. The contest proceeded to the second half following a 20-minute halftime break. At the time play resumed, the Yellow Jackets held a 29-6 lead over Susan Moore. Beard had recorded an interception and a 49-yard touchdown reception earlier in the game.
