Swansea City set to sign defender Stephen Welsh from Celtic
Summary

Swansea City is close to completing the signing of defender Stephen Welsh from Celtic. The 26-year-old has been with Celtic since his youth career and has made 70 appearances for the club. Last season, he spent most of the time on loan at Motherwell, where he made 31 appearances. Swansea's head coach, Vitor Matos, is looking to bolster the team's central defense after a season where key defenders Ben Cabango and Cameron Burgess played significant roles. Ricardo Santos had a limited impact, and Kaelan Casey's loan ended prematurely, creating a need for additional defensive options.
