Team of golfers attempts million-yard charity challenge in 24 hours

A team of nine golfers is attempting a million-yard golf marathon in Nuneaton over 24 hours to raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK. They plan to use a simulator to continuously hit shots, averaging a 200-yard distance every 8 to 10 seconds. Organiser Richard Adams stated that the effort could involve significant physical strain, with massages and entertainment provided for participants. The event highlights the growing concern over prostate cancer, which claims approximately 12,300 lives annually in the UK. Support for the fundraiser has also come from golfer Rick Shiels, who is contributing auction items to assist in raising money for the charity.
