Tennessee plays new fourth-quarter song to honor Dolly Parton

Tennessee football introduced Dolly Parton's song "My Tennessee Mountain Home" as its new fourth-quarter anthem during a Sept. 5 game at Neyland Stadium. The choice serves as a tribute to the late country music legend, who died on Aug. 25 at age 80. The track replaced Morgan Wallen's "The Way I Talk," which had served as the team's anthem during the 2024 season. University officials have not confirmed if the change is permanent. The stadium also featured other musical tributes throughout the game against Furman, including a halftime show by the Pride of the Southland Band and a spirit squad performance set to "Jolene." Parton, an East Tennessee native, maintained a long-standing relationship with the university, frequently performing at stadium and arena events. The team is scheduled to return to action against Kennesaw State on Sept. 19.
