Texas A&M prepares to host Missouri State for 2026 season opener

Texas A&M begins its 2026 college football season Saturday night by hosting Missouri State at 6 p.m. Head coach Mike Elko enters his third season leading the Aggies, who reached the College Football Playoff for the first time in program history last year. The team returns redshirt junior quarterback Marcel Reed, who recorded 3,169 passing yards and 25 touchdowns during the previous season. The Aggies feature a revamped roster following the departure of 10 NFL Draft selections, bolstered by 17 transfer additions including Anto Saka and Isaiah Horton. Coaching staff members are currently evaluating four new starters on the offensive line ahead of the program's inaugural nine-game SEC schedule. The team released a promotional video Friday to mark the start of the season, with the game scheduled to air on ESPN.
