Thirteen Upstate athletes nominated for weekly high school sports honors

Thirteen athletes from across the Upstate region are candidates for the Ingles Boys Athlete of the Week for the period of Aug. 24–30. The nominees include football players from Woodruff, Greenville, Chapman, Hillcrest, Boiling Springs, Greer, St. Joseph's, Gaffney, Dorman, and Daniel, alongside a cross country runner from Greer Middle College and a volleyball player from Riverside. Candidates were selected based on standout performances, such as Ashton Moore throwing five touchdown passes for Chapman and Tanner Tumblin recording 24 kills for the Riverside volleyball team. Voting is open to the public through the publication's online poll until noon on Sept. 3. This recognition follows the previous week’s selection of Landrum football player JP Branyon as the fan-voted winner. Supporters may cast multiple votes for their preferred athlete until the deadline.
