Thompson, 49ers defeat Ada in Mid-South Regional matchup

Brody Thompson led the Tupelo 49ers to a 7-1 victory over Ada (Okla.) during the American Legion Mid-South Regional on August 7 at Sims Park in Gastonia, North Carolina. Thompson contributed two hits, scored three runs, and stole two bases, setting an aggressive tone for his team. After racing to a 2-0 lead in the first inning, the 49ers extended their advantage with additional runs in the second and third frames. Jax Coker pitched five strong innings, conceding just one run while striking out five. Tupelo's next challenge will come on August 8 at 2:30 p.m.
