Tigers hire Kyle Hudson as new first base coach for 2027 season

Summary

The Detroit Tigers have officially appointed Kyle Hudson as their new first base coach for the 2027 season. This announcement comes after a disappointing 2026 season in which the Tigers failed to reach the postseason for the third consecutive year and made significant trades, including dealing pitchers Tarik Skubal and Casey Mize. Hudson previously served as the third base coach for the Boston Red Sox before being relieved in April 2026. He replaces Anthony Sanders in this role, aiming to bring fresh coaching strategies to the Tigers as they prepare for the upcoming season.
