Tigers surge in standings as ace Tarik Skubal nears return

The Detroit Tigers secured a series of wins, sweeping the Tampa Bay Rays and taking two of three from the Seattle Mariners. These victories come after a challenging season start, significantly boosted by the anticipated return of ace Tarik Skubal from injury. Skubal, recovering from elbow surgery, made a successful rehab start, pitching five scoreless innings with six strikeouts. The Tigers recently moved up in power rankings after previously being ranked last.
