Toledo defeated St. Paul 9-3 at CHS Field on Thursday. The Mud Hens took an early lead with back-to-back home runs, scoring three runs in the first two innings. A two-run single in the fourth and another two-run homer in the fifth extended their lead to 7-0. The Saints responded with a two-run shot by Tanner Schobel and a solo homer from Emmanuel Rodriguez but could not cut the deficit further. Toledo capped the scoring with a two-run double in the eighth. The teams will meet again Friday evening, with Germán Márquez starting for St. Paul.
