Towcester Racecourse plans National Hunt racing return for 2027 season

Towcester Racecourse will host its first National Hunt racing fixture in nearly a decade on 20 October 2027. The Northamptonshire venue, which previously closed to horse racing in 2019 following administration proceedings, will resume operations as part of a new schedule extending through February 2028. Management company Orchestrate is collaborating with the British Horseracing Authority to facilitate the comeback, supported by a £2m investment in the track surface and spectator infrastructure through a partnership with Betway. While the course has hosted greyhound events since its closure, this announcement marks the formal return of its original jumps racing identity. AP McCoy, who recorded his 4,000th career win at the venue in 2013, expressed support for the project as organizers continue track preparations for the upcoming season.
