Trent Seaborn sets AHSAA career passing record in Thompson victory

Alabama commit Trent Seaborn set the AHSAA all-time career passing yardage record during Thompson's game against Vestavia Hills on Friday, Sept. 4. Seaborn entered the contest needing 257 yards to surpass the previous record of 11,024 yards held by Jack Hayes. After completing 16-of-19 passes for 244 yards in the first half, Seaborn broke the record on the second play of the third quarter and was substituted out of the game. The quarterback finished his performance 18-of-21 for 264 yards and three touchdowns. His contribution helped Thompson maintain a 28-0 lead at halftime and secure a final 49-0 victory. Seaborn, a four-star recruit and member of the USA TODAY Sports Southeast Region ALL-USA team, has won three state championships during his high school career.
