Trick Williams defeats Baron Corbin to reclaim United States Championship at SNME

Lil Yachty survived five minutes with Baron Corbin at WWE Sunday Night's Main Event, earning Trick Williams the US title shot he cashed in minutes later.

Trick Williams is United States Champion once again, thanks in part to Lil Yachty, with a victory over Baron Corbin at WWE Sunday Night's Main Event.

WWE kicked off its Sunday Night’s Main Event broadcast on Peacock TV from the State Farm Arena in Atlanat, Georgia with Quavo performing his new song just ahead of fellow rapper Lil Yachty making his way to the ring to try to last five minutes with United States Champion Baron Corbin. The stipulation going in was simple — if Yachty could make it through those five minutes, his friend Trick Williams would earn another crack at the title he lost to the man they’re calling “The Nomad.” Yeah. You won’t be surprised to learn that Yachty did indeed manage to make it through those five minutes, even with Corbin hot on his trail. He used a low blow to get himself across the finish line, ultimately getting put through a table for his troubles. Of course, we don’t need to talk about their being no disqualifications and Trick Willy not being out there to help out. They had to allow Yachty some leeway to deliver on believable offense for him, which amounted to grabbing a kendo stick and swinging. Either way, Yachty got the job done. The championship match ensued immediately, giving Williams a notable advantage. Despite this, Baron gave him one hell of a fight, taking advantage late of Yachty bringing the U.S. title into the ring and inadvertently distracting the referee for the ensuing shot. It only got a two count, but it looked like the end. The actual end came next — Williams hit a Trick Shot and scored the three count to win his title back.
