UCLA running back Wayne Knight earns Paul Hornung National Player of the Week

UCLA senior running back Wayne Knight received the Paul Hornung Award for National Player of the Week following a 45-24 victory against California. The award recognizes the most versatile college football player in the country, and the honor follows Knight's performance on September 5 in Berkeley. Knight contributed 157 all-purpose yards, including 71 rushing yards, 56 yards on kickoff returns, and 30 receiving yards. He also recorded three rushing touchdowns during the game, marking his first career multi-touchdown outing on the ground. Knight was previously named to the preseason watch list for the award after finishing as a finalist in 2025 while playing for James Madison. UCLA prepares for its home opener at the Rose Bowl against San Diego State this Saturday.
