Uefa and Concacaf oppose Infantino's plans for World Cup privatization

Uefa has initiated a boycott of FIFA competitions amid ongoing concerns over Gianni Infantino's privatization plans for the World Cup. Following an emergency meeting, Uefa's 55 member associations united against the proposals, which are now set for a vote on September 19. Concacaf expressed rejection of the plans and voiced concerns about the lack of due process, although it did not join Uefa’s boycott. The Asian Football Confederation also supported Uefa and Concacaf, expressing serious reservations about the proposals. Various confederations, including CAF and Conmebol, have yet to publicly state their positions, indicating a divided among FIFA’s member associations.
