Upcoming runs scheduled on South Coast in August and September

Track & FieldSeveral road and trail running events are planned on the South Coast in the coming weeks. The Coos Coho Run will take place on Aug. 22 at the Millicoma Marsh Trail, starting at 9 a.m. as a fundraiser for salmon habitat restoration. The annual Sunset Bay Trail Run follows on Aug. 29, featuring various races beginning at 8:45 a.m. at Sunset Bay State Park. Other events include the Powers Logger’s Run on Sept. 12 and the Prefontaine Memorial Run on Sept. 19, honoring Steve Prefontaine with multiple races starting throughout the morning.
