Vandals damage mural of Jude Bellingham and Morgan Rogers in Quinton

A public mural featuring England footballers Jude Bellingham and Morgan Rogers has been defaced in Quinton. The artwork, which depicted both Black Country-born players eating local orange chips, was situated on the side of the Classic Fryer chippy on Hagley Road. Artist Dion Kitson created the mural using adhesive cloth earlier this year ahead of the World Cup quarter final in July. Kitson reported that a significant portion of the image depicting Bellingham was ripped from the wall. While expressing disappointment over the destruction of his work, the artist indicated he intends to produce a new, larger mural. This site previously gained local attention for its depictions of prominent football figures, including a 10-foot mural of former manager Sam Allardyce in Dudley.
