Virat Kohli may play for Delhi in the Vijay Hazare Trophy

Virat Kohli is eligible to play for Delhi in the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy as he prepares for the 2027 ODI World Cup. DDCA president Rohan Jaitley confirmed that the association welcomes Kohli to represent his home side whenever his international schedule permits. While the veteran batter has not played domestic cricket outside of the IPL in over a decade, his potential involvement is viewed as preparation for limited-overs matches. The move remains contingent on his workload management across the India international calendar. India is scheduled to play 11 ODIs during the remainder of the year, including series against West Indies and New Zealand. Any participation in the domestic tournament would serve as additional match practice for Kohli in the 50-over format.
