Virginia Tech names Penn State transfer Ethan Grunkemeyer starting quarterback

Grunkemeyer, a redshirt sophomore who previously played at Penn State, secured the role ahead of the upcoming season. During his time at Penn State, he appeared in games late in the season and finished with 1,339 passing yards, eight touchdowns, and four interceptions. He won his final four starts for the Nittany Lions before joining the Hokies. This decision follows a roster shift at Virginia Tech, where the coaching staff brought in several former Penn State players to occupy key positions. Grunkemeyer is expected to make his debut for the Hokies in their opening game against VMI.
