Athletes from various Texas high schools are in contention for the City National Bank Big Country High School Athlete of the Week, covering performances from Sept. 7-13. Standout candidates include Tristan Beal from Abilene High, who threw for 269 yards and four touchdowns, and Lane Couch from De Leon, who rushed for 215 yards and three touchdowns in a 42-7 victory. The poll is now open and will close at 5 p.m. on Friday, with the winner announced shortly after. Nominations are due by 7 p.m. on Saturday, and voters can access the candidates' statistics online.
