Voting open for Volusia-Flagler Boys Athlete of the Week

Voting for the Halifax Health Volusia-Flagler Boys Athlete of the Week is now open, with a deadline of 10 a.m. Sunday. This week’s nominees include Logan Beverly, who led Flagler Palm Coast in bowling with a 655 series, and Mateo Almeida, who finished third in cross-country with a time of 17:28.7. Previous winner Carson Perry, a golfer from Spruce Creek, had claimed 69% of the votes two weeks ago. The Daytona Beach News-Journal compiles nominations from local coaches and results to create the voting ballot, which excludes football players. Emailed votes are not eligible for counting.
