Watterson baseball scores four runs in first inning to reach OHSAA final

Watterson baseball secured a spot in the OHSAA state final with a 5-1 victory over Cuyahoga Falls Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy on June 11. The Eagles scored four runs in the first inning, including a three-run home run from junior catcher Ben Uhlenhake. Senior pitcher Ben Burleson allowed one run and scattered six hits over the game, propelling Watterson to its first championship game appearance since 1997. The Eagles will face Hamilton Badin, who won their semifinal against Parma Padua, at 7 p.m. on June 12 at 17 Credit Union Park in Akron.
