UCLA opened its home season with a 28-10 victory over San Diego State at the Rose Bowl on Saturday. After a scoreless first half, Bruins running back Wayne Knight broke the deadlock with three rushing touchdowns in the second half. Knight found the end zone on runs of 8, 7, and 36 yards, marking his second consecutive multi-touchdown game. Jalvian Thomas also contributed a 1-yard rushing score for the Bruins, who improved to 2-0 under coach Bob Chesney. San Diego State managed only a 46-yard field goal from Cooper Dileva and a late 19-yard touchdown reception by Jackson Ford from Jayden Denegal. UCLA returns to the Rose Bowl next Saturday to face Purdue, while San Diego State prepares to host James Madison.
