Weatherly and Tamaqua record soccer victories in Schuylkill League action

Weatherly secured a non-league victory Saturday, overcoming Marian 3-1 behind a hat trick from Maci Kane. Madison Malloy provided the lone goal for Marian in the loss. In other girls soccer results, Tamaqua defeated Williams Valley 8-0 with multiple-goal performances from Evelyn Leinbach and Alaina Gomez. Minersville opened its season with a 3-0 victory against Jim Thorpe, fueled by two goals from Jenna Cullen. Boys soccer competition featured Blue Mountain, which bested Muhlenberg 5-1 as Hayden Freed and Blake Batory each tallied two goals. Additionally, the Mark Wyllie Memorial Tournament concluded with Pine Grove and Bangor playing to a scoreless draw in the championship round, while Schuylkill Haven claimed the consolation match against Berks Catholic.
