White Sox defeat Twins 4-1 behind three home runs

The Chicago White Sox defeated the Minnesota Twins 4-1 on Thursday, aided by three home runs off pitcher Zebby Matthews. Benintendi added a long home run in the fourth inning to extend the Chicago advantage to 4-0. Erick Fedde pitched for Chicago, limiting the Minnesota offense throughout his outing. Josh Bell provided the only run for the Twins with a solo home run in the ninth inning before the game ended. The result leaves the Twins 3.5 games out of the final wild card spot with four teams ahead of them in the standings. The teams are scheduled to play again on Friday at 6:10 with Taj Bradley facing Robbie Ray.
