Winston-Salem Dash defeat Bowling Green Hot Rods in South Atlantic League series

The Winston-Salem Dash erased an early six-run deficit to defeat the Bowling Green Hot Rods 9-8 in Game 1 of the South Atlantic League Division Series on Tuesday. After trailing 6-0 in the fourth inning, Winston-Salem rallied behind home runs from James Taussig, Braden Holcomb, and Javier Mogollón. Mogollón hit a game-tying three-run home run with two outs in the ninth inning, and Nick McLain secured the victory with a walk-off double in the 10th. Seven Winston-Salem pitchers combined for 15 strikeouts, including a scoreless relief effort over the final 3 2/3 innings from Max Banks, Aric McAtee, and Carlton Perkins. This result gives the Dash a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three series. The teams are scheduled to play Game 2 on Thursday at Bowling Green Ballpark.
