The University of Wisconsin held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Sept. 11 for the new Kellner Family Athletic Center. Top donors Mary and Ted Kellner, whose $20 million contribution helped initiate the $285 million project, attended the event alongside athletic department officials. The facility, which the department began using last month, currently includes an indoor football field and a five-lane track for use by various university teams. Construction required the demolition of the Camp Randall Sports Center to accommodate the new site. The project, which also involves replacing the former McClain Center, is scheduled for completion in 2028. Future phases of the construction will introduce a new weight room, locker rooms, a dining hall, and dedicated spaces for sports medicine and nutrition.
