Wizards add Patrick Ewing and Steve Clifford to coaching staff
Summary

The Washington Wizards have hired NBA legend Patrick Ewing as an assistant coach to join head coach Brian Keefe's staff. Ewing, a former New York Knicks standout, will mentor top draft pick AJ Dybantsa and the team's young roster. Steve Clifford, a veteran NBA coach, will also join the Wizards in an advisory role. These additions come as the Wizards look to improve after finishing the 2025-26 season with a 17-65 record, their worst in the league. Ewing's experience coaching young talent at Georgetown may be pivotal for the development of Dybantsa and other emerging players on the team.
