WWE moves NXT against AEW's Blood & Guts special next week

"

Due to election coverage on The CW, WWE is moving NXT television to next Wednesday night, right up against AEW’s big Blood & Guts special. There were rumors that NXT was told to “load it up” for the big head-to-head battle, and now it appears that’s exactly what is happening. A follow up rumor indicated the company gained confidence from beating AEW when they were forced to move to Tuesday night. Surely they’ll be confident in this one: CENAA!! 🫡@JohnCena will be LIVE at #WWENXT during NEXT WEDNESDAY'S show! pic.twitter.com/likttW50n1 — WWE (@WWE) October 28, 2026 Cena will be returning to WWE television on Monday Night Raw in Brooklyn, and he later revealed he will indeed finally be coming with details on The John Cena Classic. We’ve only been waiting since May! NXT will be involved in said Classic, so there’s a perfectly reasonable explanation for Cena showing up outside of “we want to crush AEW.” Beyond this, they also announced Cody Rhodes will be live on the scene to present the Dusty Rhodes Classic Tournament winner with the Cup. Hank & Tank will take on Noam Dar & Romeo Moreno in the Finals. The choice will be yours: Hustle, Loyalty, & Respect or Blood & Guts.
