The promotion previously utilized a similar taping model to provide talent time off during the Labor Day weekend. While WWE has historically hosted weekly television programs in Saudi Arabia around premium live events, current plans suggest the company will travel to the region specifically for Crown Jewel. This event represents the sixteenth premium live event held in Saudi Arabia as part of a 10-year partnership that began in 2018. TKO Group Holdings president Mark Shapiro has indicated interest in continuing to host events in the Middle East despite regional instability.
