WWE roster members shift momentum following latest Raw and SmackDown events

Some places do power rankings. Here at Cageside, we do a stock report. In this weekly series, we identify three Superstars (or groups of Superstars) who are on their way up, and three that are moving in the opposite direction. After a busy week that included Chelsea Green returning to the ring with a bedazzled face mask, Sami Zayn beating up more people with the WWE championship, and Danhausen getting involved in GUNTHER’s business, a lot of fortunes were changed. With that in mind, let’s see whose stock decreased the most this week: Stock Down #3: Baron Corbin There aren’t too many great options for Stock Down this week, so the very tall United States Champion Baron Corbin makes the list for undermining himself on SmackDown with the Quote of the Day: “I don’t have to be entertaining, I’m the champ.” Indeed. Stock Down #2: The Vision Bron Breakker wasn’t quite on Oba Femi’s level on the mic during the contract signing for their match at Sunday Night’s Main Event, making it a little more clear why Oba has surpassed him as the future face of WWE. The idea that Austin Theory is Bron’s backup muscle in The Vision doesn’t work. This group desperately needs Bronson Reed to return ASAP. Stock Down #1: Je’Von Evans After multiple weeks of eating big boots from Big Cass, Je’Von Evans finally fought him in a singles match on Raw and…lost to a big boot. If WWE’s goal is to make Je’Von Evans seem like nobody important, feeding him to Big Cass is certainly one way to make that happen. Now let’s see whose stock increased the most this week: Stock Up #3: Tatum Paxley It’s very important for pro wrestlers to have a captivating personality and/or gimmick that stands out from the pack, and things are working out fine for Tatum Paxley in that regard since she recently showed up on SmackDown. She scored a win in her debut match against Michin, and that helps too, of course. Stock Up #2: Penta & Rey Fenix Penta and Rey Fenix predictably advanced to the final match of the ongoing tournament to see which luchador gets to lose against World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns next month in Mexico City. Fenix had a hell of a match with Dragon Lee in round two, which he needs to keep doing to have a chance for a bigger push. Both Lucha Bros should get a big showcase on this week’s Raw as they fight in the tournament final. Stock Up #1: Royce Keys & OTM Royce Keys returned to Raw this week with OTM and laid waste to Solo Sikoa, LA Knight, and The Usos. I’m not gonna pretend like this was some kind of white hot angle, and perhaps this group is ultimately just there to put over the other sides of The Bloodline war. But for now they are a fresh act in that story, which means there is at least potential for Royce’s group to get over with WWE fans as they are featured in more Raw angles and main events in the short-term.
