Xabi Alonso leads Chelsea to three consecutive wins to open the season

Chelsea head coach Xabi Alonso has started his tenure with three straight victories across all competitions. The club defeated Fulham 3-2 in their Premier League opener and secured a 2-0 win against Luton Town in the Carabao Town in the Carabao Cup. Most recently, Chelsea beat Brighton & Hove Albion 4-3 at Stamford Bridge on August 30. Despite conceding five goals in their first two league matches, the team remains undefeated. OptaJoe reports that Alonso is the fourth manager in Premier League history to oversee his side scoring seven or more goals within his first two league games. Meanwhile, former Real Madrid colleague Álvaro Arbeloa has struggled as Fulham manager, losing both of his opening league matches to Chelsea and Sunderland.
