Zach Bako-Bewele expects to start at right tackle for Packers Week 1

Green Bay Packers right tackle Zach Bako-Bewele plans to start in the team’s season opener against the Minnesota Vikings this Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium. Bako-Bewele, who received All-Pro votes in each of the past two seasons, missed the final five games of 2025 following surgery for a partially torn patellar tendon in January. While he missed the offseason program, he participated in training camp conditioning and was a limited participant in practice Wednesday. Coach Matt LaFleur indicated Bako-Bewele will receive a final status designation on Friday. The Packers also face uncertainty at left guard, where Aaron Banks is dealing with a knee injury. The team will hold two additional practices before departing for Minneapolis this weekend.
