Zilla Fatu references The Rock in debut WWE NXT promo

Zilla Fatu made his first televised appearance for WWE NXT following his signing with the promotion in August. During his initial promo, the wrestler wore gear that drew immediate comparisons to his cousin, The Rock. Fatu confirmed via a YouTube vlog that the outfit choice was intentional and intended to pay respect to the WWE star. The wrestler, who is the son of Umaga, previously competed on the independent circuit and at Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling promotion. Reflecting on his transition to the national stage, Fatu discussed the creative process with Booker T on the Hall of Fame podcast. He noted that he followed instructions while incorporating personal touches to define his character on television. Before his appearance, Fatu performed a prayer and acknowledged his late father, Umaga, during his segment.
