Abilene Christian drops in FCS rankings as Tarleton State climbs

The Abilene Christian Wildcats moved to the No. 23 spot in the latest Stats Perform FCS Top 25 rankings following a 33-10 road loss to Texas Tech. Despite an 0-2 start to the season, the program maintained its streak of 30 consecutive poll appearances dating back to September 2024. In contrast, the Tarleton State Texans rose to the No. 4 position in the poll after a 20-13 victory over Bowling Green. This win marked the second time in two seasons that Tarleton State defeated an FBS opponent. Abilene Christian prepares to host the 13th-ranked Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks this Saturday at Wildcat Stadium. The Wildcats are scheduled to face Tarleton State in a rivalry game at Memorial Stadium on Nov. 7.
