Alabama lands commitment from 2027 4-star running back Nigel Newkirk

Alabama football has received a commitment from 2027 four-star running back Nigel Newkirk. Newkirk, a prospect from Gainesville, Georgia, chose Alabama over several top programs, including LSU and Ohio State. Initially planning to decide later this summer, he solidified his commitment during an official visit to Tuscaloosa. Ranked as the sixth-best running back nationally, Newkirk is noted for his strength and burst on the field, despite suffering a season-ending injury last fall. He is the first commitment for Alabama's 2027 recruiting class, which is anticipated to be small.
