Area golfers enter PGA Tour pre-qualifiers beginning September 16

Local golfers begin the PGA Tour qualifying process next week with pre-qualifiers hosted at sites across the United States. Andrew McLauchlan, Sam Nicholson, Andrew Riley, and Osborn Theam are among the local players scheduled to compete. The multi-stage process leads to the PGA Tour Q-School at TPC Sawgrass Dye's Valley and the Sawgrass Country Club scheduled for December. Players who advance through these initial events will move into first-stage qualifying sites occurring between October 20 and November 6. Regional golf activity also includes the resumption of the Jacksonville Area Golf Association schedule and the upcoming Jax Beach High School Invitational on September 19 at the Jacksonville Beach Golf Club.
