Atletico Madrid provided Julian Alvarez with written consent for Barcelona transfer

Atletico Madrid reportedly issued Julian Alvarez written authorization to discuss a potential move to Barcelona. This documentation stands in direct opposition to the club's public insistence that they would not facilitate a transfer to a domestic rival. According to claims from El Chiringuito TV, the internal approval was granted even while the club officially rejected the possibility of such a deal throughout the summer. Barcelona ultimately pursued other options, recently completing the signing of Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal. Despite adding a forward, the club retains interest in Alvarez and may revisit the pursuit during the January transfer window. The existence of the written consent suggests that the forward's departure to a direct competitor was not strictly prohibited behind closed doors, despite the public stance maintained by Atletico Madrid.
