Celtic omits three summer signings from Europa League squad

Celtic confirmed its finalized squad for the upcoming Europa League league phase on Thursday. Due to UEFA registration restrictions regarding non-homegrown players, manager Martin O’Neill was limited to selecting only 17 of his 20 eligible players. Consequently, Landon Emenalo, Shim Mheuka, and Joel van den Berg have been left off the roster for the competition's eight league-phase matches. These three players were acquired during the final day of the summer transfer window. Seven other new signings, including Sam Johnstone, Oliver Sorensen, and Jordan Lotomba, successfully secured spots on the squad list. The team is scheduled to play its first match of the tournament against Ferencvaros later this month.
