Deion Sanders reflects on departure of Haynes King from Georgia Tech

Colorado head coach Deion Sanders expressed relief that quarterback Haynes King is no longer playing for Georgia Tech. During a media appearance ahead of Colorado’s season opener, Sanders recalled the difficulty of facing King, who led Georgia Tech to a 27-20 win against the Buffaloes last season. In that 2025 meeting, King recorded 156 rushing yards and three touchdowns. King has since joined the Carolina Panthers, where he secured a spot on the initial 53-man roster after a strong performance in the Hall of Fame Game. Although a hamstring injury shortened his preseason, his transition to the professional level concludes his college career. Colorado subsequently faced Georgia Tech this past Thursday night, resulting in a 14-13 victory for the Buffaloes.
