De'Von Achane faces tough outlook for Dolphins after contract extension

Summary

De'Von Achane, running back for the Miami Dolphins, has a troubling outlook for the upcoming 2026 season following a significant four-year, $64 million contract extension. The Dolphins experienced a disappointing 7-10 finish last season, prompting major organizational changes including releasing quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and hiring new head coach Jeff Hafley. With the departures of key wide receivers Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill, Achane is expected to be the main focus of opposing defenses. The performance of newly acquired quarterback Malik Willis will be critical to Achane's success in the coming season. Achane enters the season as one of the key players on a restructured offense.
