Edgewood maintains Black & Blue Trophy with victory over Owen Valley

Edgewood defeated Owen Valley 31-12 at the Mustang Corral on Friday, September 11, to retain the Black & Blue Trophy. The Mustangs built a 21-point lead in the first half behind two touchdowns from Eli Lirot and a passing touchdown from Braylon Linerode to Tobias Connors. While Owen Valley struggled to generate offense early, the Patriots narrowed the gap in the second half through a persistent rushing attack led by Walker LaGrange. Edgewood sealed the win late in the fourth quarter with a 23-yard field goal from Kade Gilchrist and a strong defensive performance that included an interception. The win improves Edgewood to 2-2 on the season and 1-1 in WIC play, while Owen Valley falls to 2-2 overall.
