Elkhart defeats South Bend Riley 46-18 in Northern Indiana Conference play

Elkhart football secured a 46-18 Northern Indiana Conference victory over South Bend Riley on Friday night at Jackson Field. The Elkhart defense contributed significantly to the outcome, recording two interception returns for touchdowns and a safety. Quarterback Micah Jarrell threw for two touchdowns and added one rushing score to help the Lions move to 2-0 in conference play. Cole Bell also contributed defensively with a 63-yard interception return for a score. South Bend Riley, which falls to 0-2 in the NIC, received two long touchdown runs from Cameron Davis during the second half. The win leaves Elkhart tied for the top spot in the league standings alongside Penn, South Bend Saint Joseph, and South Bend Adams.
