Franklin College names Olympian Jennifer Brinegar as new head swimming coach

Franklin College announced Tuesday, Sept. 1, that 1976 Olympian Jennifer Brinegar has been hired as the program's new head swimming coach. She takes over the position from Zach Rayce, who recently left the Grizzlies to serve as the aquatic director and head coach at Indian Creek High School. Brinegar brings extensive experience to the role, including a collegiate career at Indiana University where she earned seven Big Ten titles and multiple national championships. She later worked within the Indiana University athletic department for over two decades and founded the Club Olympia Swim Team in 2016. Brinegar becomes the third head coach in the history of the Franklin College program, which launched in 2010. The Grizzlies women’s team holds a streak of Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference meet victories dating back to 2019, while the men’s squad has finished as runners-up for six consecutive years.
