George Pickens disputes claims that Giants hold league's best cornerback room

Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens recently responded to comments made by Giants cornerback Greg Newsome regarding the status of the Giants' defensive backfield. Newsome previously stated that he belongs to the top cornerback unit in the NFL, a position Pickens publicly contested. Pickens noted that while he respects Newsome’s confidence, he disagrees with the assessment of the positional hierarchy. The two players have a history of on-field tension dating back to a 2024 game when Newsome played for the Browns. Pickens maintained that he and teammate CeeDee Lamb constitute the league's most effective wide receiver pairing. The Cowboys duo combined for 168 catches, 2,506 yards, and 12 touchdowns during the previous season, statistically trailing only the tandem of Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams by 12 receiving yards.
