Georgia football restructures special teams after losing key 2025 starters

Georgia football enters the 2026 season with a overhauled special teams unit following the departures of punter Brett Thorson, returner Zachariah Branch, and snapper Beau Gardner. Despite the roster changes, kicker Peyton Woodring returns for his fourth season after a successful 2025 campaign that saw him convert 17 of 19 field goals. Coach Kirby Smart indicated that Woodring and freshman Harran Zureikat are competing for kicking duties, while Drew Miller and freshman Wade Register are vying for the starting punter role.
